Christmas in July!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...in July!!

I couldn't resist this Bebunni Christmas set. This is the Christmas Present set. I colored him with my Spectrum Noir Markers (GB3, HB1, HB3, IG1, IG3, IG9, FS1, FS3, BG9, LG3, LG5, JG7, DR6, DR1) and my Spectrum Noir Blendable Colored Pencils (034, 020, 073, 033).  I blended the colors together using the Spectrum Noir Blending Solution and Paper Stumps. I then fussy cut around him for this card.

For the snowflake background, I grabbed the 6x6 Embossalicious Embossing Folder called Christmas Elegance and used it with 6x6 Shimmering Cardstock in Silver Starlight (it has a beautiful pearly sheen to it when held on an angle which is unfortunately hard to capture on camera!). To add some color to it, I took my Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass and used a craft sponge to rub it on very gently in some areas. It adds just the right touch of winter to the background.

For the hills, I freehand cut them out of patterned paper. I glued them down using foam adhesive squares to pop it up so I could tuck the Bebunni image behind the hills like he's walking through the snow. I chose the sentiment on there from the same Bebunni Christmas Present set because it looks like he's coming to deliver his present to your house. You know, over the hills and through the snow...I couldn't resist! I added a simple bakers twine bow to the top and cut the bottom in a pennant shape (there's a tip below for the perfect pennant shape done freehand) and a row on pearls along the bottom of that that mimic snowballs.

I hope this inspired you to start your holiday crafting early this year! I know we all say we will, so I hope to actually stick to it. How about you?

TIP: To cut a perfect pennant shape, you'll want to find the center of your piece you're wanting to cut into the pennant shape. Cut a slit as small or as large as you'd like depending on how much of a pennant you'd like. Line your scissors up on the left bottom corner to the top of the slit you just made and make your cut. Repeat on the right side. You should have a perfect pennant!

Fairy Greetings

Good morning! I've created an adorable card for that special little lady in your life. I chose to leave off a sentiment because I loved her just the way she was sitting in the grass.

I used the Toreads, Flora stamp set for this card. I colored her in using my Spectrum Noir Markers (FS2, FS3, FS5, FS9, BG3, BG4) and my Spectrum Noir Blendable Colored Pencils (009, 120, 119, 117, 112, 017, 047, 058, 089) and blended together using the Spectrum Noir Blending Solution and Paper Stumps. I just love how the pencils and markers work so well together. I use pencils on anything with very small details, such as this image, to be able to add definition and blend in small spaces!

Then I decided she needed some little pearls in her floral headband. I fussy cut her out and to me, it looks like she is sitting atop something. So I took a grass die and cut out grass for her to sit on and I tucked her feet behind the second row of grass for dimension so it really looks like she's sitting in the grass!

For the background, I used the Dandelion Embossing Folder with black card stock and rubbed on Memento Luxe ink in Wedding Dress for that chalkboard look. She just pops right off the background. Plus, I colored her hair using grey, so it coordinates without blending right in.

Hope you enjoyed my project for today! Visit Crafter's Companion for all these great products and much more!

For the Mr. and Mrs.

Wedding season is upon us and I like to have cards at the ready.

I grabbed my Bebunni Love-Wedding Day stamp set from Crafter's Companion and got to work coloring these two love-bunnies in. I used my Spectrum Noir Markers (Blender, TN1, TN2, TN3, PP1, PP2, FS1, FS6, EB7, BG2, BG5, BG8, IB3, HB1, HB2, CG4, PP4, GB7, GB2, GB4, GB10, LV2, PL2, and PL3).

I simply stamped the sentiment in the open space in the lower left corner. That is also from the Bebunni Love-Wedding Day stamp set. I love all the little colored confetti around them!

I simply cut out around them in a rectangle shape. I chose a charcoal grey card stock base to coordinate with the groom's hat and a fun camera patterned paper since the wedding is all about the photos! Well, you know what I mean. Hey, I'm a photographer and I can't help it... ;)

I wanted a little something extra on here so I pulled out a flower from my stash and spritzed on some spray mist in a shimmery golden yellow color to match Mrs. Bebunni and added a fun wooden heart to the center.

Thanks for stopping by! Get crafting!

Creative Cluster of Cards

Hey there! I have a cluster of cards I've created that I've been waiting to blog, so I collected them all in one post. I've tried to put the sets I used below. Most of the paper you'll see is from my stash, so I'm not sure where it came from, but please ENJOY all the posts.

I'd love for you to pin them too ;) Thanks!

Friends Like You

I'm bringing you a pretty little card today using this amazing new Shimmering Cardstock from Crafter's Companion today! I used the Silver Starlight. I wish I could capture the sheen on camera for this stock...it's GORGEOUS. This stock would be perfect for wedding or anniversary cards, and dare I say Christmas. Don't be mad. I had to! You still have a little less than 6 months. Okay, I'll stop :)

I took my Shimmering Cardstock and used the Bold Floral Embossing Folder. I love the look it gives and I chose to just leave it be, not adding any ink to this particular card because of the look I was going for. You can certainly use your inks as watercolors, rub them on with a craft sponge, anything you wish! This is one of my favorite embossing folders I recently purchased. I can just imagine all the different looks it would give with various papers and inks like I mentioned. (Wheels never stop turning for the creative.)

For the lace strip, I inked up my Stamp-It Australia, Ornate Accessories set using the lace image. I chose to use my Staz-On Midi Ink Pad in Ganache because I was stamping onto the Shimmering Cardstock and I didn't want it smudged and I wanted it to dry quickly. Perfect.

I then fussy cut around the bottom of the lace. I chose a simple patterned paper strip for underneath the lace strip that coordinated and to add a pop of color.

The sentiment is also stamped on the Shimmering Cardstock with the Ganache ink as well. I chose the "Friends like you are far too few..." from the Sentimentals, Imagine set.

I glued that all down to my white card stock base, and I simply added a strip of little self-adhesive pearls on the left side for some interest.

I did find a similar card I had liked on my Pinterest board (follow me!) and I used that for my inspiration. I suggest pinning cards or projects you see for that - inspiration. I love Pinterest!
