Cas-ual Fridays Challenge CFC #24

I wanted to push myself to participate in this challenge since I adore Halloween and everything about it, all the colors...decorations...spookiness...thrills...okay, you get it. I LOVE everything about it. But I had to reread the challenge rules a couple times as the title is misleading:

So you would probably think you have to use orange, right?! WRONG! Here's what the challenge said:
CFC24:  Create a Clean And Simple Halloween project with NO orange.  Not even a tiny spot! Ummm, no orange. You read it right. So I dived in. And I gotta say, I love the way it came out. What do you think? Leave me some feedback :)

SP&Company Spooky Orange Blog Hop

I'm baaaack! :) I'm excited to participate in the blog hop over at SP&Company! I HAD to participate since Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday...EVER!!!!!

I got to play with my new stamp set from the Holiday Mini catalog from Stampin' Up! for this one. I just loved all the pieces that are included in the set. So I did some fussy cutting, Copic coloring and Halloween spookiness for this card. I just love how it came out and I can't wait to use this set over and over again.

I love comments, so leave me some spooky thoughts below. Thanks for stopping by!

SP Color Combo #112

Another post today! I'm on a roll. I also wanted to enter this challenge as well at SP & Company's blog because I love her color combos. Always pairing fresh colors together and really making you think!! I love that. I grabbed colors as close to the palette as possible, so here's my take!

Again, using my new stamps I just got, the distressed circle background one has been on my wish list for a looong time since I first saw it at Archiver's. Well, that was the first one that went into my basket. I am loving it, so I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot of that one in future cards...

And the whole reason I bought this Technique Tuesday set by Ali Edwards is because of the coloring factor. I knew these would be adorable colored in various colors and I can see I was right.

The camera didn't pick it up, but I traced each of the letters in celebrate with my clear Spica pen. It adds just the right amount of sparkle to this card. I love it and I hope you do, too!! Go over and play along at SP & Company!!

SP Blog Hop for August 2011

Hi there! I am submitting the card below for the blog hop happening right now on SP & Company's blog and the theme is PURPLE. Not a color I use a ton, so this was really fun for me to do something out of the ordinary :) I just got this new Hero Arts stamp yesterday at Archiver's during their fantastic, one-day-only sale and I knew when I bought it I was going to use it for this project.

I really wish the camera could pick up the Glimmer Mist I used all over the flower. It adds a really simple but elegant shimmer to the whole flower just making it pop! And of course, I got to use my purple Copics. And the sentiment at the bottom is from a Technique Tuesday set by Ali Edwards. I just love her handwriting and thought it went so well with this simple but elegant card.

I hope you love it :) Thanks for stopping by!! Remember you can view this larger by clicking on each image!

SP Color Combo #111 & CFC 13

I wanted to kill two birds with one stone with these two great challenges! I'm hoping it was okay that I combo'd the two! I don't get a ton of crafty time available to me, but I wanted to participate in both.

Here is the color combo challenge that SP & Company had on her blog:

And for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge, it was to use a 4x9 card utilizing the "white"/negative space on the card! LOVE me some white space. As a graphic designer, I don't always get to use it, so I embrace it when I'm allowed to!!

AND NOW FOR THE CARD!! I hope you love it, and I know I love getting comments ;) Thanks for stopping by. Sign up to follow my blog, please!

Boyish Baptism Card

Religious cards are always a tough one for me. For one, I don't have a lot of religious stamps. Okay, I have ONE cross. That's all! I was checking out a few cute sets from Stampin' Up! but hadn't ordered them. I really need a good go-to set for these types of celebrations.

Here's a card I made for my husband's cousin's other child, who celebrated his baptism the same day as his sister's 3rd birthday party! I really love how this came out and I had NO idea in my mind about what I had wanted to do, which as my one friend laughs and calls me the glue-and-go girl. :) This is one of those cards where I did just that! Enjoy!

As you can see, I used the emboss resist technique and I loooooove the way it turned out. I'll be doing this more often.

Pennant Birthday Card

Here's a card I recently made for my husband's cousin's daughter for her 3rd birthday. I had some fun using scraps I thought would be cute with the pennant stamps from SP & Company! And a big ol' 3 I stamped with a small heart from one of my Stampin' Up! sets and colored with Copics to match :)

And what's a birthday card without sparkle?! I had to add a couple strips of pretty Martha Stewart glitter to give it a little punch of glam.

Project Life Update

Remember a while back when I had posted that I entered my design concept for Project Life? Well, I found out that I did NOT win, so I thought I'd share with you my submission and see what your thoughts were. I adored it, so I may use it for my own scrapbooking :)

LOVE to hear comments, so tell me what you think!

Summer Card: 4th of July

I chose to go with a color combo I adore, and it just speaks summer to me–4th of July!

One year I had sent out photos of my son in a very red, white and blue outfit for the 4th and everyone loved getting cards like this with an updated photo of him when it wasn't your traditional holiday to receive a card. This card would be easily duplicated for mass production for that purpose. :)
If I had more time this year, I would definitely do that for our family and friends.

I hope you enjoy the card and would LOVE to read your comments.

SP&Company Lime-a-licious Blog Hop...TAKE 2!

I told you, I love green!! I wanted to submit another card for the SP&Company Lime-a-licious Blog Hop so I chose this card I recently made. I just love the way it came out! I was thrilled to create my own pattern on the ticket diecuts. You can see it better in the detail. I struggled with what to place over the green dotted background on the base and my BFF pulled these out and man, perfect fit, don't you think?! Love her :) Hope you love my card I came up with. Comments are appreciated!!!

SP&Company Lime-a-licious Blog Hop

This is my first submission for the SP&Company blog hop!! This months' theme is to use lime green. I love green and was excited to be able to use the color on a card I had fun creating. Here is my take on the lime green (actually, you can use any shade of green; how awesome, right?!)

Below is the detail up close showing the embossed butterfly and the pearl accents and that awesome black paper (which is actually the cover of a paper swatch book that I tore off and put to great use!! Hey, I work at a printing company and when the books get updated, these just get thrown away...GASP. I take them home and use the paper for cards and such!).

PTI May 2011 Blog Hop

It's that time again for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop! This month's theme was flowers. I only own one set of PTI flowers, which is the special CHA set that I received last year and I really love it. I hope that you enjoy the card I've come up with. I plan on getting more flower sets from PTI...many, many more...soon!!! Can't wait to hop around to all the blogs today!

SSC Monthly Blog Hop – May 25

Hi there! I've got a special card for the SSC Monthly Blog Hop for this month. The theme was to use masking on your project. I have to say, this is NOT a strong suit of mine, but I did a simple mask and I have to say, I love it!! I will definitely be attempting more masking on my cards in the very near future.

I made this as a little thank you card for my son's Kindergarten teacher. Thought the paper I had in my scraps was a perfect fit for a teacher. You can see the detail in the circle that I masked out the center of the circle and stamped smaller circles inside that I colored with a Copic marker. Just the right touch. And the wee pencil...too cute! The school year ends next week and I'm having a hard time coming to grips with the fact that he's going to be a 1st grader!!! **sniff**

Please leave a comment and be sure to visit all the blogs in the hop! Here's a direct link for the blog hop: http://simplyscrapping.ning.com/group/sscmonthlybloghop Join in on the hop and sign up at Simply Scrapping Crafts!! It's a great community to share your creations.

I would love if you would follow my blog as well. Thank you for "hopping" by!

want to design project life? i sure do.

I just adore Becky Higgins, from her style to ideas to her interesting posts from finds from stores around where she lives or her decorating ideas, the woman is genius in everything she thinks up. I'm in awe :) A friend of mine showed me her sketches book for scrapbooking and that's where I fell in love with her style. I follow her blog and of course "like" her on Facebook.

Her recent post titled "Want to design Project Life?" stopped me in my tracks. Me, being a graphic designer, instantly had these thoughts of MY designs hitting people's homes and having them be in awe with something little ol' me designed :) Okay, I dream big, but I'm thrilled to be working on my design for Project Life. And let me just say, I am beyond excited about my design and I really think I have a shot!

Check out her blog post about it and wish me luck!!! FINGERS CROSSED. I'm putting the finishing touches on it hopefully today because I have to submit it by May 4th. This is my first step into getting my designs out there to the crafting community :)

UPDATE!!
I submitted my design concept this afternoon to Becky Higgins, so I'm crossing my fingers super, duper tight!!!! Obviously, I can't post anything, but I will say that I used a lot of fresh color combos that I'm just loving and it's not as girly as some of her other designs, so I hope that's a good thing!!! I know I love it and even if I don't get to be the designer, I'm going to possibly sell the digi images so other people can use them! That's how much I adore it :)

Simply Scrapping Crafts Blog Hop, April 2011

Here is another exciting blog hop for Simply Scrapping Crafts!! I'm thrilled to be able to post another card that I created exclusively for this hop. It's an adorable Unity/Ippity Stamp that I bought at Archiver's last week and since spring was the theme, this is PERFECT for a spring themed card. I hope you enjoy the card and thanks for stopping by!

Papertrey April Blog Hop Challenge

Here is my first ever card that I've entered in a PTI Blog Hop and I'm so excited about participating!!! I don't have a huge collection of PTI stamps...yet. I'm in love, of course, with ALL of them, and I got a few key sets I knew I would use all the time for cards (which I have!) last summer at CHA in Rosemont, Illinois. I cannot wait to go again this year. I have a "wish list" prepared already :) Now to start saving!!

Thank you for visiting and I hope that you enjoy my take on the PTI Blog Hop challenge of making a masculine type card. This will go in my stash for an upcoming boy's birthday...the bike added the perfect touch :)

Here is a link for the hop to see the other talented people out there!!
